This nice blend made by our friends from the Nukini tribe of the Western Amazon is made with a very special healing plant, the justiciar pectoralis also known as piri piri in Peru. It contains cumarine that gives it its delicate flavour and it is traditionally used in the southern Americas as a natural analgesic and expectorant.

Justicia pectoralis is an herb in the family Acanthaceae. This water-willow is widely known as tilo in Latin America and in Cuba. In Haiti it is called chapantye and zeb chapantyè on Dominica and Martinique. Other folk names are freshcut, chambá carpintero, té criollo, curia, death-angel, masha-hari, or "piri piri".
