As suggested by the name, this strain of the cubensis family was first discovered in the state of Texas in the United States, and is comparable to the famous Mexican strain.
The Texas strain produces small, firm and dense caps. The stems from this strain are thick and do not hollow like other cubensis strains. The pins are dark brown and as growth begins, the caps widen and the color may change to a lighter brown. With much less water content than any other cubensis, the Texas strain does not shrink as much when drying, resulting in a firm and solid shroom.
Optimal growing conditions for this strain are the same as other cubensis, sprouting with little to no light exposure, and also growing quite well outside the optimal growing conditions.
