Blue Lotus - Nymphaea Caerulea

The Blue Lotus (Nymphaea caerulea) is also known as the Blue Waterlily or the Egyptian lotus. It is a waterplant that grows on the sides of lakes and rivers. The ancient Egyptians considered the blue lotus as a sacred plant.

Effects

The effects of the Blue lotus are both narcotic and euphoric, becoming slightly hallucinogenic at higher doses. It is also used as a sexual stimulant and potency enhancer. Effects dissipate quickly after 2 hours.

Usage

Can be smoked for a mild sedative effect or consumed as tea. To make tea, take 5 grams per person and soak in hot water. For a traditional Egyptian drink, soak 5 grams in a wine bottle for several hours. Do not exceed recommended dosage: Blue lotus makes the wine bitter and hard to drink.

Warning

Not recommended for use under 18. If pregnant, nursing or taking a prescription drug, consult your health care professional. Do not exceed recommended dose. Consumption may impair ability to drive or operate heavy equipment. Not recommended for consumption with alcoholic beverages. Do not take together with antidepressant medication.
